Field Care
Here you go! The most important part of having your trophy mounted...getting it to your taxidermist...which, is hopefully me! However, whoever you take it to here is some great information provided to you via me from the McKenzie Taxidermy Company. I STRONGLY suggesst that you read it carefully and pay attention to it because you can destroy your mount by not taking proper care of it enroute to your taxidermist! Worst case scenario is your mount ruins and you have nothing but the pictures left of your beautiful animal. Next scenario is it costs you EXTRA $$$$ for your taxidermist to hopefully repair the damage...and that's a big IF...it can even be repaired. When hair falls out due to bacteria setting up...you ain't putting it back in!! Freezing immediately is ALWAYS the best option. My own personal preference for freezing fish, which is not in the brochure, is this: If you ever get confused about what to do just come back to my site, print off this page with the brochure and take it with you or talk to your own personal taxidermist BEFORE you leave on your trip and get his own personal preferences. Here's your brochures and contact me for any questions. Just click on the link and when the page opens, you will see the option to print it out at the top or you can save it to your computer.
